The European Conference on Complex Systems, 2008 will take place from
September 14-19 at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.

You are invited to submit extended abstracts of minimum 2 pages here in any of the following fields:

1) Economics and Social Sciences
2) Biology and Bioinformatics
3) Computational, Physical and Mathematical Methods
4) Information and Communication Technologies

Depending on the selection results, You will later be invited to submit a long paper (up to 15 pages), a short paper (up to 6 pages), or a poster abstract (1 page)

Topics include (but are not limited to):
(1) micro & macro economics, financial markets, social dynamics,
reconstructing social networks, economy on the web, large
infrastructure networks and human mobility, territorial dynamics and
sustainable development, ecological dynamic equilibrium, institutional
stability and adaptability, growth patterns,...
(2) biological networks, inference in biology, brain & functionality,
ecology, epidemiology and population dynamics, cell biology,...
(3)computational and dynamical processes in networks, agent based
models, games and on-line algorithms, statistical physics of complex
systems, network reconstruction, inference algorithms and
applications, optimization over networks, ...
(4) communication technologies and collective thinking, e-society, P2P
communities, emergence of hierarchies, health networks, energy
networks, mapping scientific communities, key-words auctions,...

Submitted papers should contain original, unpublished results relevant
for complex systems research. Long paper submissions will be judged
according to highest standards and refereed by three experts, short
ones by two, and poster abstracts by one. Please design your paper
according to these mentioned guidelines!
(also , not mandatory, but it will make some administrative tasks easier, please have your name be a part of the filename, and don't have spaces within the filename if possible if you are uploading a file)

The deadline for final papers and poster submissions is

June 30, 2008

Notifications about acceptance decisions by the program committee will
be given on July 31. In case of requested revisions, the final version
will be due by Aug 31, 2008.

Abstracts of accepted papers will appear in a Conference Booklet and site.
Selected contributions will most probably be published in a special issue of a leading complex systems research journal.
