There is no universal definition of a complex system (see e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_systems) - can anybody think of one that is simple and applicable to all fields to which complexity theory/ a complex systems approach has been applied? submitted by V. Welch;

ECCS2008 welcomed the proposal, initiation and organization of
satellite conferences both in parallel with the main conference
Sept 15-17 and also on Sept 18-19.

There are about 12 such events in various stages of preparation.
